My 260k mile M54B22 is burning oil now it was fine I service it way before it’s meant to be done I rarely drive it hard and I do generally look after it. Loosing a litre of oil every 400ish miles just done this mod today so hopefully it improves I’ll be happy if it goes to 1000 miles I can live with that until I B25 swap it next year

I changed my expansion tank at 107k miles and it started leaking again from the lid, so I took it back to the shop and the radiator was bad but it’s still leaking. Do you think I have to get my expansion tank replaced again or would it be something bigger than that?

Hey guys. I have a E46 320 diesel. It just clicks when I want to crank it. The starter seems ok. I took it out, cleaned it, replaced the carbon brushes. It works perfectly of the car. When I put it back in it just clicks. On push start, the engine starts in a second. Do you know what could be the problem ? Thank you

Here's the reality your cat has to get up to a certain temperature before it starts operating and it usually takes about 5 to 10 minutes once your cat gets up to temperature then it starts burning the admissions coming out of your motor and what are your admissions well it's going to be gasoline left overs carbon buildup CO2 etc. so you need something to clean that off without hurting or eating the precious metals that need to be at temperature. Other than that there's a lot of chemicals you can use that clean gas and carbon buildup and all the harsh detergents that they put in fuel I think the important thing is the cat just gets clogged and it can't work efficiently pretty much anything you clean it out with it's going to fix the problem

I mean obviously theres no difference to achieve real results I need other mods such as mods to lower temperature (intercooler) some mods to improve air flow Soch as this intake down pipes etc then TUNE!!!! Engine wont suck more air if it's not tuned properly but those filters are ready to welcome that tune

I just tuned my car with mhd stage 1+, it was doing fine till I got stuck on the side of the road and got a 30bb code, not sure if it’s my Injectors 4,5,6 or my dme, but the car smells like gas and it doesn’t wanna stay running nor move forward or backwards

Hoollllyyy smokes. This was the explanation i needed. In all honesty, this is making the fault deduction process way easier when its explained this way. The mechanics of how these systems operate. I just replaced my alternator and had to remove the air flow system to get to it, (sounded scarier than it axtually was) and aftet i placed everyhting back together, these 2 codes popped up the next day. 2 days after when i had time, i re-removed the air flow system again to make sure EVERYTHING was tightened back correctly, (and replaced my air box filter in the process) then the code dissapeared right after. Fast forward 5 days later, codes are back. So at least i know what im lookin at now after this videos details. TYSM 😊

You don't use the method others use, with heat, and call it false. Bad call.

You were fine using everything until the NaOH. Sodium Hydroxide does clean catalytic converters, it strips the core of platinum. So now you have a converter without any catalyst in it. All you platinum is in the solution now.

Thank you, Sir, for the troubleshooting steps. It turned out that my ignition coil #3 got defective. However, my troubleshooting got more interesting because I also had to replace the MAF Sensor due to error code P0102.

FYI BMW and Mer/Bz used a biodegradable covering in their wiring so that at the end of the lofe of a car 30+ yrs the land fills would not be filled with unusable metals but they didn't account for engine heat so it's a design flaw with no recalled ever issued.

I fix my 325i over a year ago done all lines and everything it needs to be done and the engine was being funny and completely forgot about getting a tune up it’s been sitting for a couple and recently got one can’t wait to see how it handles now before it was already a good lil track car it has a 3.0 from the 330i and can’t wait to get my seats fully dye

I have a very strong vacuum when opening the oil fill cap. And the car is nurning a lot of blue smoke when accelerate or long idle. Will cutting the dipstick hose and apply this mod solve tje high vaccum and smoke or will it only stop the smoke but still vacuum a lot?

Hey man im not sure if you still reply atall. But my car started throwing p0491&2 codes which are secondary air pump codes. My pump works well, im thinking it could be my valve. But while driving sometimes my car will just hesitate and stop accelerating and idle very rough and I thought it was a camshaft sensor of some sort but im only getting the secondary air pump codes but i heard the air pump system wont affect the car like that. Today i tried starting the car and noticed behind and lower from the air pump i saw some smoke. Someone told me if i have alot of oil residue everywhere which i do then its probably oil getting heated up turning viscous and oxidizing so i should replace my valve cover gasket since its obviously leaking and the secondary air pump valve. It just doesn’t seem to me that any of that will affect my car the way my cars acting. What do you think?

BMW takes away the ticking by revving the engine for two minutes . That's the procedure.

It's not that they put the chain on incorrectly, it would just take a certain number of rotations to get both chains lined up with all the marks and you were mainly concerned with the top. The truth is none of those links matter as long everything is in the correct position

Fantastic video! Clear explanations, great view angle and thanks for including torque specs. We have 3 of these Sportages one 97 and two 2002s. When I've taken off the air intake tube I've removed the expansion joint on the air filter side only, removed the single bolt holding the resonants chamber leaving the chamber on the tube, left the single electrical connection on the air intake tube, removed the two bolts holding the air intake tube down, removed the three bolts holding the tube to the intake manifold then snaking it all out intact then flipping it 180 and laying it on sufficient rags on top of the battery to avoid contacting the positive post. Use this hint if you like but the video way is perfect.
